Really tired of wet feet / shoes !

Posted: 01/01/2013 at 10:59

I got some Inov-8 debris gaiters this year, and they've been really good for off-road running through deep mud and puddles. I use them with Salomon Speedcross, and although they don't keep my feet completely dry (eg when I was wading in knee deep water on a run last week) they keep out the worst.

Well worth £15 (bit less from Wiggle - Debris gaiters).

Bath Half Marathon

Sorry if I'm stating the obvious, but "full results" (ie 10,909 finshers) are available at: http://www.thisisbath.co.uk/bathhalfmarathon2011.html

I appear in this list, but not in the results on the official event site. My time is exactly as clocked on my stopwatch too (a new PB: 1:40:07, hoorah) so I trust these figs. No idea why I've gone missing on the official site!

If you're interested, I've set up the route map (as I remember it) on MapMyRun.

I can't vouch for 100% accuracy since my brain was frazzled with oxygen depletion at the time, but I have checked it against the photo of the course map on FB (thanks hightops!).  If you think the route is wrong, let me know.

Really enjoyed the race - well done to the organisers for excellent signposting and marshalling. Great opportunity to explore a beautiful part of the Warwickshire countryside.

Just to reiterate the comments about the fantastic support from the people of Bath.  My favourite was the 5-year old girl who was playing the bugle so hard she nearly passed out.

Congrats too to any runners who managed to get their Lucozade Sport into the hot tub. That was just way too tempting.
