Hey, I've enjoyed reading all of the race reports. Looks like I wasn't alone in finding it tough! I went from confident of my gold time to being happy to just be able to finish in the in the space of about a mile! It's amazing how fast it can all go wrong! But reading through the reports from you guys has made me realize that crossing the finish line is still a triumph! Well, getting to the start line in good shape and un-injured is a triumph!!

How long do people generally take away from running after a marathon? I can't imagine I'll be in a fit state to run this week!!

Is it just me or was that particularly tough out there today!! I suffered which in itself is no big shock, but there seemed to be loads more runners collapsed at the side of the road in the Bois de Boulogne (translates roughly to English as 'the endless Forrest of eternal purgatory') than last time! And my folks who were spectating said a lot more runners looked quite rough!!

Hope you all had a good run! Last year I set off too fast and died horribly over the last 6 miles so I learned my lesson this year and set off nice and slow........... and died horribly over the last 6 miles!!! So a whopping 20 minutes slower than last year! Hey ho!! I'm still happy though and I like my new medal and t-shirt

"For all of you in the UK being driven mad my looping continuous news stories about air pollution and Nigel Farage, you will be pleased to know that here on the near continent, all our crap air is blowing over to you. So you'll be fine when it comes to running the marathn"

Just what i was about to ask about! That's great news! Thank you

One more day of work and an early rise tomorrow for the 8:55 BA flight from heathrow and I'm there! Very excited

Looks like a lot of boring out and back along the A14 on the new route! Also a shame we're running through the suburbs rather than through the centre? Oh wel!
