Fire Service College Annual 10K

I did it last year when it was the "Help for Heroes 10K" but good to see it's return after its inaugral staging in 2010. The race itself could'nt be easier as its flat and very fast. I also found it quite sheltered too, most runs on disused airfields can be quite windy but the circuit isn't as exposed as you might think, plus there's plenty to look at with burnt out cars, lorries and even aeroplanes littered all over the course!!! Nice touch too with the organised warm up with some damn fine fitness ladies! Obviously students at the fire college, most of the marshalls were cadets too. It was very well organised and I can wholeheartedly recommend it. Newbies are made most welcome as the fun runners and walkers set off with the main runners too, only they do one lap as opposed to the 2.

Hi, never heard of this place, despite the fact I live in Hereford! How long will it take me to drive there?

Hullo! Will be attempting this race on Sunday, first one of 2007 for me so looking forward to it. Am quite near to the venue but have never entered before. Anyone got any info on the course?

Is it possible to run one lap and then walk the next. I.e, run on alternative laps? I reckon this would only mean running about 15 miles (only!?!?!) How long would this take?

I think the modifications they've made this year include jumping the fences!

Does anyone know anything about this race? It's an unusual distance and the name does scare me a little!

It's quite flat right on top of Cleeve Hill, it's a bit of a plateau but I don't know if this is where the race is. I quite fancy it myself, the only drawback being I'm on nights that week and have to start work at midnight!!! Still, if I take it slow...
