London Marathon 2015 - 4hrs 22 mins 00 secs

I'm not following a plan, I made my own up. I only want to run 3 times a week, just going to increase mileage and cut back 3 weeks out, last long run will be 3 weeks before race

I don't belong to a gym either! My husband does bodybuilding as a hobby, bit too strict on the diet for me!

We are doing the bridge today which I have done before, but whilst in position she had us put our arms over our head on the floor, made you feel it in your glutes more and hold for 8 seconds.

Have a 12 shift tmw so no running for me

My fastest 3 miler was 24:20, 10k 54:20, half marathon 2:05:34

when I did portsmouth marathon I really wanted to run 4:30, I did it in 5:16, it is a trail marathon and I found running on shingle and grass quite hard! I did not walk any of it and was just pleased to finish!

Booked in for stubbington 10k in jan and will try and do portsmouth half in feb.

Just done a 4 mile run, legs felt tight after yesterday.

Stylish what pace do you run at? If I do a 10k I can manage 8:20-30 but anything longer like 10 miler is 9:15/30,

my son has decided to quit swimming lessons so now may be able to get some park runs in, I'm disappointed he wants to stop but have said he's not staying at home on a Saturday on the iPad!

I've been doing Pilates for 5 weeks and really enjoying it. I spent 8 years in the army so circuit training does not appeal to me.

I also recently bought the book Core Strength Training and the moves are very similar to Pilates, the book was £5, Isbn number 978-1-4093-7923-2   What I'm learning is the slower the movement the more you will get out of it, anything to improve my core!

I initially thought for a long time it was piriformis syndrome because of the pain when sitting for prolonged periods, don't leave it as long as me!

I am trying to do strength exercises as don't want it to stop me running or get worse!

Just done a slow 9 miler and got soaked! I felt really good on my run today.

I injured my glute in 2011 and since have had scar tissue building up, I get a lot of pain when sitting, when I do a sit up I go over the scar tissue it's that big now. This year I've had accupunctue, acupressure and seen a sports physio. Because its the glute nearest to me it's very difficult to get to. But I found an exercise sitting on a chair and going over a hard ball! Seems to work better than foam roller. I know the pain I get behind my knee and hamstring is related to the glute!

I will get there though!
