Samsung’s Home Run initiative has moved into a new gear now that the London Olympic Games are upon us.
We first mentioned Home Run back in March, when the scheme was set up to encourage Londoners to run home from work. It’s a simple idea. You, the runner, solve all of London’s transport problems. How? Well, you simply join one of Home Run’s guided group runs home from work instead of taking public transport or relying on your car. And the best part is they carry your bag for you.
When the scheme was launched, there were just a handful of routes to choose from, but so many runners embraced the idea that the scheme’s undergone huge expansion in the last few months.
Samsung’s Games-time Home Run launches on the same day as the London Olympics’ opening ceremony (that’s Friday 27th July in case you hadn’t heard) and will offer a choice of 44 routes throughout the capital. Six of the routes will operate every week day, with the rest operating on several days of the week. And if your preferred route doesn’t exist yet, simply vote for it on the Home Run website.
How it works
Simply meet at your nearest train or tube station, hand your bag over to the Home Run crew, and join their guide for a leisurely group run to the station nearest to your home, where your bag will be waiting for you.
Home Run won’t just save you from the chaos of your commute though, it will also save you money and give you a healthy, sociable workout. Visit Home Run to register and find out more.
