The Fastest Man in a Business Suit?

Canadian runner swaps lycra for a three-piece suit in world record attempt

Adam Campbell - not in a business suit

This weekend Canadian lawyer and Arc’teryx athlete Adam Campbell will be swapping lycra for office attire in an attempt to beat the Guinness World Record for being the fastest man to run a marathon in a business suit.

The ultra runner who is raising money for a local free legal advice charity will race at the Goodlife Fitness Victoria Marathon in British Columbia on Sunday.

Keen to mix his dual personality as a runner and lawyer, the idea came about after the Canadian read about a recent failed attempt at the record. The current record stands at 3:24:46 by the UK’s Paul Buchanan in the Adidas Dublin Marathon in 2009.

"It will feel hot and heavy and the first word that comes to mind is 'chafe'!" says Adam. "I'm going to make sure to lube up on any potential hotspots. Mostly though, it will feel ridiculous and fun."

To make the challenge that bit harder, Adam says he also hates suits...

Do you know of any other weird and wonderful running world record attempts?

Running doesn't focus your fat burning on your belly alone. No workout does. You can't direct your body to burn more fat just from your abs. sg autorepondeur
