New to this, but just felt Philip deserved the reply he should be getting.  The advice above is all good advice, be it dated 2002 or 2010.

Stop being so pedantic.

Because research is being done all the time, which can advance our understanding.

Champagne used to be considered a good in-race performance enhancer.  Is it now?

Current thinking is that milk-based recovery drinks are a good idea.  High nitrate foods (eg spinach, beetroot) are thought to have advantages.  Is this covered in the 2002 version?

An update would seem overdue.

Obviously two of them have been chucked out since 2002.  When are they going to be replaced?

Why have they skipped out on 5 and 7? can they not count or are they scared of the numbers?
