First Woman Tina Oldershaw 1:11:43

Nearly 400 runners turned out for this year’s Eridge Park 10-mile race in Tunbridge Wells on September 14 – more than double the previous year.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the race boasted its usual healthy quota of mud and sludge, as well as some less mucky woodland trails.

Participants enjoyed a picturesque off-road route, which took in the Eridge Estate Deer Park, an ancient Saxon Fort and the local fishing mecca of Furnace Pond, all of which was very impressive; but it included enough stretches of narrow, steep and deeply rutted track to keep runners’ minds focused on the job in hand.

Last year’s winners repeated their success this time around with Nick Barrable first man in 1:02:05 and Tina Oldershaw first woman in 1:11:43.
