A perennial favourite in the Staffordshire area and with a reputation for outstanding organisation, the Staffs Knot 5 was one race knot to be missed.
Nearly 500 runners lined up at the start in Cannock Chase Country Park on a breezy evening on August 13.
The route packed a few testing hills along the way with a particularly vicious one between miles three and four, but each subsequent downhill gave an opportunity to admire the pleasant surroundings and take a breather.
Tom Humphries was first man in 24:05 – knocking
27 seconds off his previous course record – while Kate Burge was first lady in 30:34.
