A REASONABLE BRA THAT REDUCES "FIGURE OF EIGHT" MOVEMENT.
Designed especially for high-impact sports and available in a D to G cup, this bra is comfortable to run in thanks to the padded shoulder straps and Coolmax fabric. It provides a decent level of support without the flattening effect some sports bras designed for bigger breasts have. It was reasonably priced, and comes in my favourite colour - black!
While side to side/up and down "figure of eight" movement is certainly reduced, my breasts still seem to bounce in the classic "up and down" fashion a fair bit. It's not enough to cause any discomfort, but is enough to be visible. As a 36D I am at the smaller end of the size range this bra is designed for, so I imagine bigger breasted women may find it even less effective at minimising "up and down" bounce. I also find that the stitching on the back of the Shock Absorber label on the front on the bra rubs on the skin just below my sternum, making it quite sore. However, this problem is easily eliminated by applying Vaseline to the skin before running.
Overall, the bra does substantially reduce breast momevent (by up to 74% according to the Shock Absorber website), and other than the aforementioned chafing, is comfortable to wear. However, I feel it may be better suited to other high-impact sports where the motion is not quite so repetitive and chafing is less likely to be an issue. I think that for us runners there may be better sports bras out there.
