Nike Pro Victory Compression Sports Bra
by Alice Palmer
This update of the perenially popular Pro Victory Compression bra has an improved design which provides excellent support and comfort.
In the design of the updated Nike Pro Victory range, Nike consulted 1,424 sporty women. The designers then developed a whopping 120 versions of the chest band, perfecting every element down to the thread count. The result? Each new bra is 10 to 27 percent lighter and 35 to 60 percent stronger than its predecessors.
The most important element of testing any sports bra is the support, and the Nike Pro Victory Compression certainly performed here. It didn't feel tight or restrictive and I didn't notice any bounce at all. The support would definitely be enough for smaller cup sizes (Nike suggest the bra is best for A-C cups).
Made with Dri-FIT fabric to wick sweat away and help keep you dry and comfortable, I found that while my other cotton-based compression bras can get heavy with sweat during runs, the Dri-FIT fabric was so efficient that the fabric felt the same at the end of my run as it did at the start.
Low-profile, bonded seams on the straps and sides of the Nike Pro Victory Sports Bra give a smooth, streamlined feel, while flat seams across the bottom help reduce irritation caused by chafing.
The racer back sat securely between my shoulder blades with no rubbing or movement even when wearing a backpack on top. The thick elastic strap under the breasts was excellent - light and comfortable but secure without feeling restrictive.
It also scored in the vanity stakes - I loved the grass green model Nike sent me. It looked smart and a bit different to the usual pinks and blues and I didn't mind it being visible through the straps of vest tops.
