Terrible piece of kit and a waste of money.

You can use it as an ugly watch
Bezel is unreliable, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
Stay clear of this device and go for the much improved 610

405 Not that Good

None Really
None Really
I bought this watch off ebay. The fella who I bought it off said they are over rated and reverted back to a Polar. I just thought he did not know how to use the watch. Now I am in agreement with him. I have seen my runner club wear them then revert back to the older watches now. I never used mine in the end it was difficult to set up and the soft wear was rubbish. That said I have a Garmin 610 brill.

Not convinced !!

After using my iPhone with MapMyRun for a while I was talked into using a Garmin so purchased the 405. In fairness its build quality is pretty good and its size are better than the iPhone but thats about it.
Sometimes seems to take an age to locate satelites, Takes ages to set up, User handbook is rubbish. On top of that The touch bezel is awful and can cause the unit to freeze in wet/humid conditions if you dont lock the bezel when out in these conditions.
Not the simplest system to use and already looking at finding something different and simpler.

great - be patient!

Amazingly accurate in terms of all the functions I use distance, time, pace, mapping etc. It takes a bit of practice but we are so use to using technology intuitively without reading instructions that we are spoilt. With a little practice and patience the 405 works brilliantly and, in so doing, is an excellent motivator. I used mine to pace me through 9 consecutive PBs over different courses and distances. What more can you ask?
Nothing really.
Great

This was bought as a present two years ago and is not worth the money that was paid for it? the function is hard to use and the touch screen keeps beeping.
give me something with more buttons and easier to use.
