Questions in the title really. I 'overpronate' (I run on the outside of my feet), just wondering what type of shoes I should look at.

Cheers

Murdoch

P.s I have med-high arches

Motion control shoes. The degree of support depends on your technique and degree of pronation. Best bet is to go to a running shop and experiment with a few different shoes, then either buy there or try to find last year's model of that shoe online for half price.

Murdoch, James is spot on best visit a good running shop so they can decide how severe the over-pronation is as you could need stability or motion control and believe me getting it wrong can hurt!!

Cool cheers guys. I have been to a decent running shop, got a decent pair about a year ago. I've just started to look round for a new pair and have forgotten which ones I need. I will go down the shop again, but just wanted to look on-line at the options before going down, out of curiosity more than anything else!

Thanks again

Murdoch

Umm

if you have a med - high arch and are running on the outside of your feet, you are supinating and would do best in a cushioned shoe.

Unless I misread simething

No you not missing anything CableToe, I thought I did over pronate (my ankles flex outwards, which makes me run on the outside of my feet) I do have med-high arches. Maybe I do supinate then??

If I wasn't confussed before, I am now ha ha!

Murdoch, assuming the shoes you bought last year were comfortable and you didn't suffer from constant injury, I'd recommend trying to find the same model - they'll probably be down to about 30 squid if you can find your size in stock online.

Cheers James

Well, I don't suffer constant injury, although I do suffer from PF and I've sprained my ankle 3 times in a year (not whilst running though) and this has altered the angle of my ankle (the angle on one ankle is more extreme than the other).

So in laymans terms, what is overpronation, supination and underpronation?

Cheers guys, I do appreciate your responses

Murdoch
