easy to open, light to carry and they seem to be effective.

Even when your fingers are tired and fumbling and sweaty these are easy to open. The taste and consistency is okay too.
I took a few of these, during the London Marathon, I couldn't sleep that night at all. It could in part be due to adrenaline but I just felt like I was buzzing. Interesting to read that there is a de caff version.

Rocket fuel

It gives you a kick.
I was given some as a free sample, the guy who gave them to me said he couldn't take them as he was bouncing off the ceiling. Wow and he was right. I only use them for half m's as you have to slow down after taking them. A real caffine product.

BE CAREFULL HOW YOU USE IT

None for me, but plenty for others I'm sure
too strong, taste likes medicine.
If you are sensitive to stimulants and small framed, don't consume the whole pack. I wear 53Kg and used a pack during a training session last year and ended up cold, shaking uncontrollable with 30 minutes of consumption and had to pull out of the run. I like High5 products and I will stick to the Banana gel as this taste good and doesn't have the same impact on the body.

ENFORCED UNPLANNED LOO STOP

Light to carry, easy to open while running, tasted ok (I only tried to orange one) and gave me a definite, much needed energy boost after 90 minutes but...
...for the first time I can remember I had to stop for a pee while running, not long after taking it. The caffeine was just too much for me! I now realise why so many people (men usually) have to make a detour into the bushes during a race.
Thankfully I experimented with these during training. Tried them 3 times and they always had the same effect so got some without caffeine and they were just fine. You live and learn!

EXCELLENT

palatable, not isotonic so light to carry (but need to drink about 75ml water to make it so), added caffeine which works for me at 21 miles!
not isotonic (so need to drink approx 75ml water to make it so-reserve for water stations then!)
as long as you are happy to wait till water stations to have it, you should find the lightness of the product an advantage rather than requiring a rucksack to carry round your sis isotonic gel!!
