Its the burst of energy that can sometimes make the difference

Good energy and noticeable difference.
Claims that you don't need water in order to consume.
Doesn't taste too bad, but who really cares about taste when youve got miles to grind.
Price is just right.
I might want to try a caffeine version, I don't think SIS offer one.
Good product and is worth taking on those important training runs. Personally I would take at least one of these tucked into my armband on every competitive race over 5K if I was you.

Pretty good

Really felt the boost during a training session, handy format
Texture isn't my cup of tea
Handy, good energy boost. I'm not overly keen on the texture, but a swig of water after it and I'm fine, small complaint really.

Some benefits...but are they any better than making you own drinks/substitutes...

Did anyone watch the Dispatches episode on Sports Drinks, Proteins, Gels etc as a whole....? What did you think? I personally find making my own combinations of dried fruits, nuts etc and drinks with sugar and salts in do the trick.

Yuk dont like

gels are easier to digest when running. I cant breathe eat chew swallow etc. Have taught myself to sip water whilest runing and can squeeze gel in mouth
Horrid taste. Have tried most gels - some thick some thin, most taste yuk and often repeat on you later in run. Persevered with orage luzcozage gel as FLM used them in 2010. However now found a gel I like (well can get on with) - Hi 5 - lime flavour and summer fruit flavour. Also not big ammount so able to consume it all.
Try different products and find what suits you. Downside to gels - packaging to get rid of or carry. Beans or choclate melt in hands!
