EXCELLENT

being isotonic means you dont have bloat yourself with water when you take one.
can't really think of one. After trying most on the market, it really is the best.
I usually tape one or two to my arm during a long race. They are easy to open and not half as stick as some on the market. The only one that does'nt give me stomach cramps.

EXCELLENT, TRANSFORMED MY HALF MARATHON TIMES

not sweet and sickly like so many other gels, easy to swallow when working hard
i've always run half marathons without taking on board anything but water and assuming that earlier food would get me through ok. Recently, however, I've markedly slowed down over the last couple of miles and assumed it was starting too fast (although the splits didn't support this theory). I've tried other gels but they are so sweet and sickly, I couldn't take them in a run. The SIS one is surprisingly unsweet and I swallowed a couple at mile 9 and two more at mile 10. Result - the fastest half I've done in five years.

A MATTER OF TASTE

Useful for training runs and also for added carbohydrates in the week before a marathon.
I find the gels (and also some energy drinks) too sticky, so I have to wash them down with water. Okay on slow training runs, but I can't get used to them for races (I prefer energy fruit gums)
They are definitely useful, but the taste and palatability might not be suitable for everyone. I bought a box of 30 and found that I was only using them occasionally on long runs.(If you haven't tried them before - don't follow my approach, instead just buy two or three to start with)
This meant I had quite a few left over, so in the week before my first marathon I would have one of these each day mixed in a glass of soya milk (very much a matter of taste!) Surprisingly this seemed to work very well.

OK IF YOU LIKE CURRY

easy to carroy round and easy to open
Taste - too gloopy and the blackcurrant one had a horrible curry taste to it
Not my cup of tea at all so won't be using them again

BRILLIANT STUFF THAT REALLY WORKS!

Easy to carry, both running & biking. Use with or without water.
None
I use this stuff whilst on long bike rides and long runs. When all my energy is gone, 2 of these will get me home. Takes a few minutes to kick in, but you can feel it working! Brilliant stuff.
