ESSENTIAL FOR LONG DISTANCE

Flavour variations, which help, especially if eating every 45 mins/hour over an ultra distance!
Not as thick or sickly as other gels on the market.
Essential for energy, if like me, your appetite for solids wains after 8 hours on the move.
No issues regarding digestibility, unlike some powder energy drinks.
Tropical flavour not my favourite, but the other two in alteration, help take the edge off the drudgery of energy replenishment.
Excellent. An essential means of energy, which is light and easy to carry.
Buy by the box for best vlaue for money.

EASY TO CARRY, EASY TO TAKE ON BOARD

Easy to open packaging, just rip the top off.
Smooth liqidy gel slides down like a drink. No sweet sticky after taste or gummy fingers to wipe on your vest either
No major probs to mention. Orange and Blackcurrant flavours are okay but Tropical wins hands down for me. You will need to carry more than thicker gels to pack the same amount of carbs.
Even better when carried in SIS's own gel waist band/holder you don't even know you've got them around your waist.

MADE ALL THE DIFFERENCE

Easy to open and store in bum bag. I was warned that you get a bit of a horrible taste and you should wash them down with water, but I never had any problems. Quite nice in fact
Not too keen on the tropical flavour, but that's a matter of taste.
First year running properly, I had Snowdonia marathon coming up and a friend advised me to use gel packs, I had never heard of them before. I got two, the blackcurrant and the tropical, took them at 13 and 19 mile marks, what a difference they made. I just wished I knew about them when I was doing my training runs.
