Yep, I agree with the previous sentiments. I assume you had some form of gait assessment and advice from the shop and that will be money well spent. When you need a new pair you can go wherever you like. Personally, I prefer to support my local running shop cos it would be a terrible loss if these closed down due to lack of support (well, that and the fact that I get to snog the owner
).
As to changes from one version to another - sometimes these seem to be purely cosmetic and sometimes they are more significant. I would not want to switch to a different version without trying them first or at least knowing I could get my money back.
