It’s hard to fault this shoe; but then for £130 you’d expect few faults. The 14th edition retains the renowned cushioning of previous models but has slashed 20g of weight, creating a faster ride without loss of comfort. It fitted brilliantly around the heel and achilles, and the Guidance Line was noticeably more effective, perhaps because of the reduced weight allowing it to do its job. While still too heavy to use as a speed shoe, it’s well suited for long runs – particularly on road. Its lighter structure also means it can double up and work effectively for shorter, faster runs.
