Avia Avi-Stoltz

Lightweight but durable |

Toggle lacing system |
First introduced to the UK in 2007, Avia, a niche brand with a big reputation in the triathlon world, has released its first neutral-cushioned road-running shoe over here. Cantilever technology centres the heel over a concave sole designed to soften impact and provide increased energy return. Blown rubber in the heel and forefoot strike areas provide extra cushioning.
Breathability and the lightweight but durable design came in for particular praise, as did the impressive traction on the outsole. However, some found the heel grab and the toggle lacing system more a hindrance than a help and the shoe is best suited to those with narrow feet.
Our wear-testers say:"They are incredibly lightweight and breathable and very comfortable." - Fiona Higgins
