Fit around the heel |
With most of its line becoming more technical, Brooks has introduced the Summon as an entry-level neutral shoe.
It's a simple shoe with Brooks MoGo foam cushioning, a split heel for soft landing, a DRB Accel plastic unit in the midfoot to help transition and stability, and Hydroflow gel for extra cushioning in the heel and forefoot. The forefoot has no overlays, to keep it well-fitted and flexible.
For the price, this is a great everyday shoe and is stable and light enough for overpronators to use as a racing trainer. Our lab tests show that it's very flexible and responsive with decent cushioning. Testers had a few problems with the fit but overall were pleased with it.
Our wear-testers say: "Decent stability and surprisingly lightweight. Excellent forefoot cushioning but the fit around the heel was strange." - Kerry McCarthy
