Mizuno Wave Rider 9
Fans of the Wave Rider 8 will be pleased to read that Mizuno hasn't tinkered too much for the update to its classic cushioning gem. If you liked the fit and feel of the previous version then you won't find anything amiss here as the upper material and the midsole remain exactly the same.
On the upper, some of the fabric overlays have been repositioned to reduce irritation over the ball of the foot, which could help runners unlucky enough to suffer from bunions.
The Rider's outsole has also been improved, with carbon rubber in the heel and durable, raised pods in the high-abrasion areas of the forefoot. These pods also help with the shoe's cushioning.
