MY FIRST SERIOUS RUNNING SHOE

good overall comfort-good for wide feet etc
a little hard in the arch of your feet, the first few times out, until they soften up etc

MY FIRST VENTURE INTO THE WORLD OF NEW BALANCE.

I agree with all the other reviewers, the 1060 are as comfortable as you could wish for from the off. Managed to get them for £44 from JJB so definately value for money. Even though a lot of us runners wear lycra and string vests, surprisingly we do care about style and how we look so the blue and white colour and design of the 1060 can't be faulted.
Will let you know in 8 weeks when I finish the Edinburgh Marathon in them.
Superb value for money and as stated in a previous review, New Balance are manufactured in the UK so theirs no uncertainty over the working conditions of the staff who produce them.

"IT GIVES YOU WINGS."

These have been my main pair of running sneakers for the last couple of months, and some two hundred miles later they're still holding up immensely well. Unlike the Asics Gel Cumulus 8 which I also currently run in, I've relied on these for my long runs and whenever I just feel like running as fast as I can over five or six miles of asphalt.
Although I've just bought a pair of the current New Balance 1061, they're both very comfy.
It's been said that this latter update is a little stiff, and though I've only run five miles in them I believe it's not too "in your face discernible".
Actually you might find that over time the 1060(and the more readily available 1061) soften slightly and give a better ride - that's certainly how I've felt since I bought them back in the day when it was wonderfully wet and breezy. Let it rain !

DISCONTINUED FOR THE 1061?

I tried to buy a replacement pair of 1060s over Christmas. I was told that they are no longer being produced by NB and have been replaced by the 1061. So I bought a pair of 1061s and they are brilliant. Really comfortable with a good level of cushioning. Only down side is they are very orange.
