New Balance 1061
Great cushioning and decent stability but let down a little by a stiff ride.

Our Review

New Balance won itself a few new fans with the cushioned 1060 and has sensibly kept changes to the minimum with this update. It has changed the last so that it is narrower in the heel and slightly broader in the forefoot – an area that some runners felt needed ...  Continue reading

A good shoe although I will try something different next time due to the stitching problem and the fact the soles are a little stiff Continue reading...
My first pair of shoes after returning to running after about 15 years. I have a broad foot and wore NB in my teens. The 1061s have been really comfortable, an initial problem with blisters solved by changing Continue reading...

Hi All

I have very wide feet so for the last five years i have been running I have sworn by New Balance shoes in a 4E wide fitting.  I supinate ie run on the outside edge of my foot so was advised by NB to use a cushioned shoe.  So I started with 753's for a couple of years and then started buying 891's from the States.

Well recently I asked NB UK for advice on what to wear and they suggested 1062.

After only 2 miles on my first run in them my calf and achilies started to ache and get sore.  Just thought this was a niggle after a very long run a few days earlier.  Tried them again, still had the same problem.  Went back and tried my old 891's, no problems at all.

Does anybody have any thoughts as to what has happened or any suggestions as for other cushioned shoes for very wide feet?

 Thanks for your help.

I was in 753's and switched to the 1060 or 1061's (can't remember for sure). Almost instantly I got achilles pain and can't wear them. I'm now using 755's which have caused me no problems at all and I'm happy with them as a replacement for the 753. Shop around - I've had 2 pairs at £40 each (but they are ladies)

The problem is the wide feet I can't wear 755's as they don't come in 4E fitting only 2E, but thanks for the comment.  Can't quite work out why the 1062 are so bad.

Oh sorry - didn't know about the bloke sizes. I think the 106? seemed more cushioned than my 753's so they may have been too soft for me. Not compared the cushioning of the 755 though so that could blow my theory out of the water!

Hope someone else can be of more use!

Debbie

Don't apologies, your comment was most useful and it is nice to know I am not alone in having a problem with the 1062's
