Considering the NB 1080 is one of the very few shoes that I have found available in a variety of widths (right up to the pontoon-sized 6E) it's a bit unfair of you to criticize them for having a narrow toe box. I have wide feet, and the 4E is absolutely perfect for me: most comfortable shoe I have ever run with, and the cushioning is like running on a mixture of clouds, marshmallows and small furry kittens.
