New Balance 758

Summary | Full Review | Reader Reviews | Gallery | Specs | Discussion
Water-wicking system

Thin laces

The 757 was a popular choice with neutral runners looking for a lightweight durable everyday shoe, so New Balance has merely tweaked this update. It has shaved off nearly 28g by using a lighter foam in the midsole.

It has also introduced Lightning Dry, a water-wicking system, as well as a new Sure Lace lacing system designed to stop the shoes from becoming untied.

This was one of highest-scoring shoes on test, picking up top marks in almost every category. Our testers particularly liked the reduced weight, responsive feel and the snug fit of the shoe.

The strong tread grip performed impressively in adverse weather, although the thin laces struggled slightly to keep the foot locked in place.

Our wear-testers say: "I felt immediately comfortable

in them – they're perfect for those with slimmer feet." - Carrie Doyle
