Does anyone know of a stockist in North East England? I've rang just about everyone I can find, and a few stock men's shoes, but not ladies. I know I can buy them online from Nike, but I think it's a lot of money to pay out before even trying a pair.

Try Frontier shoe Gray St Newcastle (near the monument). They dont stock them but there sister company The Athletes Foot do & i am sure they would get them in for you.

Does anyone have experience of chronic shin splints (in particular of the MTTS variety) corrected or reduced by use of the Nike Free? I am assuming a long slow build-up is needed to get the foot gradually stronger with this shoe (that's what I've read elsewhere), but I'm wondering if this principle extends to assisting in strengthening and rejuvenating the tendon involved and its attachment site on the shin bone. (I think it's called the medial tibial tendon - i.e. the tendon that runs from the underside of the foot under the arch round the back of the inside ankle and up to attach to the inner shin bone, which is the site of MTTS shin splint pain).

Thanks very much everyone. I remembered the Nike store at Royal Quays, and got some there for 15.00 - best bargain ever! I am a severe overpronator, but these shoes are absolutely fantastic - highly recommended, and at that price they're disposable, really.
