Laces came undone quite easily |
It's a totally new shoe. Nike reckons its "Dynamic Support" design allows the shoe to provide both cushioning and stability when required. It does this thanks to a midsole of lightweight LunarLite foam that sits inside a firmer foam outer carriage at an angle, along with a medial wedge that neutral runners won't notice but which comes into effect during overpronation.
Fulfilling the needs of both neutral runners and those in need of stability in the same shoe is an ambitious aim, but Nike has pretty much pulled it off.
They're very light but cushioned, without feeling spongy, offer a good level of support, and they're great to look at. The only downside is that the laces come undone quite easily.
Our wear-testers say: "I first wore them in a short race – they felt quick and responsive. Surprisingly stable for such a cushioned shoe." - Scott Mitchell
