Saucony Kinvara 3
What's new? Saucony haven’t tinkered too much with the winning formula of their stripped-down cushioning shoe series. Weight (218g) and heel drop (4mm) remain the same as on the Kinvara 2, but there are some clever tweaks in the upper, where a new exterior film bonded directly to the mesh offers structure while keeping overlays to a minimum. The heel has been slightly beveled and decoupled to ensure a better transition after footstrike.
We say Less really is more with this impressive update that wisely retains the series’ combination of a minimalist philosophy with plenty of cushioning, while adding enough to make this feel like a step forward from its predecessor. The new bonded upper feels thin and light but still sculpted around the foot (and would work without socks if desired) and on the move it feels like a shoe that makes you want to get up on your toes and let loose. Versatile enough to be used as an everyday trainer for the biomechanically efficient, or just for speedwork or racing, it’s a very impressive achievement.
