Saucony ProGrid Triumph 5
The heel has a 'decoupled SRC Impact Zone' - made from Super Rebound Compound, a type of EVA that's designed to be extra durable and responsive, and it's split in to sections to give a better heel-to-toe transition.
The forefoot is also more flexible thanks to deep grooves. Meanwhile, the arch lock (a supportive wrap in the upper that connects to the midsole) has been enhanced to make the shoe more responsive.
The Triumph 5 is a great shoe, light and fast for such a well-cushioned model. Though perhaps not as flexible as its new sole might suggest, the revamped arch lock is genuinely effective, and the shoe has a springy, just-firm-enough feel.
Our wear-testers say: "A light, comfortable shoe that holds up well. I always buy these - they just get better and better." - Jana Hladun
