Asics Gel Evolution 4

Summary | Full Review | Reader Reviews | Gallery | Specs | Discussion
Unique to the Evolution 4 is the maximum-support rearfoot trusstic, a plastic unit that makes the shoe more rigid, preventing twisting in the rearfoot of severe overpronators. There’s also more Gel cushioning in the rearfoot and more material in the upper.

This looks more easy-going than other shoes in its category, but don’t be fooled: it’s a firm, sturdy model and best suited for heavy runners with severe rearfoot pronation. It has an interesting feel, with the heel trusstic making the rearfoot noticeably firm, but with a great level of flexibility in the forefoot. Our wear-testers say:

"This shoe has great fit and forefoot cushioning, but the control features were too strong for me and the heel was incredibly firm." - Raymond Williams
