Asics Gel Foundation 8

Summary | Full Review | Reader Reviews | Gallery | Specs | Discussion
The Foundation has been tweaked with expanded Gel in the rearfoot – using two densities to help control pronation – and a longer upper to give more room in the forefoot. It’s also been upgraded with a memory foam sockliner for comfort.

This is a more conventional motion control shoe than the Evolution with a wide, straight shape and less-stiff heel. The cushioning and try-on feel has really improved and the forefoot is soft and flexible. The medial post extends a little too far back for most people and felt intrusive for all but the most severe overpronators, but those who need the support will appreciate the cushioning and relatively light weight.

Our wear-testers say:

"These are wide and roomy, if a touch ungainly. In terms of cushioning and support they feel about right for motion control shoes." - Edward Gibbes
