Brooks Addiction 7

Summary | Full Review | Reader Reviews | Gallery | Specs | Discussion
If you need a huge amount of stability in your shoe, you'll find it in Brooks's range. The benchmark motion-control shoe is the ultra-stable Beast/Ariel, but not far behind is the Addiction. It doesn't concede much to the Beast in support, but it is around 50g lighter, making it good for light runners with stability issues. The latest version should prove smoother than before thanks to a new medial post. It's bigger than before, but it now uses two densities of foam - softer on the inside and firmer on the outside - so overpronation, the excessive inward roll of the foot, is slowed progressively. Brooks has also added an extra layer of cushioning material under the insole for more padding. That said, our Lab Tests showed the Addiction to be a firm shoe.
