A great motion control with good fit fit and comfort.

Hard wearing in comparision to my Asics which always go through the toe box after a couple of months. Manage motion control without adding too much extra weight.
If you have any knee pain motion control shoes will make it worse due to the firm nature of the shoe, but this isn't specific to just this shoe i.e. you'll get it with all motion control makes.
Very happy with this shoe and overall with Mizuno. Sorry Asics - I've found a new love.

Not enough cushioning for me

These fit great, the lacing is tight and controlled and there is good support in the upper. They look much smarter than the yellow and grey of last years model and I'm sure that they will be just as hard wearing.
Ive done about 500 miles in my alchemy 8's and they have been fantastic. I have moderate over pronation and the 8's were recommended to me afer a aspell on a gait analayser. It was for this reason that assumed that the new model would be just as friendly.

As soon as I started with the Alchemy 9's it was apprarent that something had changed. There is so much less cushioning, every impact is passed through my legs up to my kneees.
My last run (a steeady 8 miles) was terminated with knee pain (first time ever) and its the final straw.

This is a real pity, the "wave" is a simple and usually effective support, these shoes have gone too far, i can't believe that Mizuno havent tested them back to back. maybe ok for some runners but to unforgiving for me.
