New Balance 1010 MC

Summary | Full Review | Reader Reviews | Gallery | Specs | Discussion
New Balance’s latest challenger to the Brooks Beast/Ariel is – like its rival – a hefty, straight-lasted old-fashioned motion-control shoe. As well as the straight last, the 1010 has a huge second-density medial post with a plastic rollbar embedded in it, plus the N-lock arch-wrap system for stacks of support. With all of this support, it’s no surprise that our Shoe Lab tests showed this to be the firmest and stiffest shoe in the Spring Shoe Guide. On top of this, New Balance has also added its stay-tied laces, which are always popular with runners.
