Pearl Izumi SyncroGuide II
This unusual-looking shoe also has an unconventional approach to motion control, with
a stiff plastic frame in the sole preventing pronation and easing transition.
The 360-degree lacing system adds even more stability, while a groove in the heel helps with shock absorption.
This updated version of the SyncroGuide is a hefty model. The plastic frame and wide shape make it incredibly stable, but our testers found it had a firm heel and stiff forefoot.
Those who needed the support did find it a fairly smooth, cushioned ride, even if they were initially sceptical about the shoe.
Our wear-testers say:
"These are wider at the front than you expect, but overall a really comfortable ride with superb cushioning." - Jayne Freer
