Brooks Ghost 5

Summary | Full Review | Reader Reviews | Gallery | Specs | Discussion
Scored highly in cushioning, fit and weight.

Forefoot cushioning was a little too plush, sacrificing responsiveness.

This is the go-to shoe for many neutral runners wanting premium cushioning. The Ghost 3 won RW Editor’s Choice in autumn 2010 and Brooks hasn’t changed the essential makeup of the shoe since. It scored highly both in the lab and with wear-testers in cushioning, comfort, fit and weight. But if anything the forefoot cushioning was a little too plush this time, sacrificing responsiveness and making this model best suited to long runs where comfort takes precedence over speed.
