But isn't this shoe designed for heavier runners?  I used wave Creations and they were amazing until I started having problems with my knee.  When I went to my shoe specialist he told me that the reason that Creations aren't for everyone is that they are designed for people who are heavier - upward of 70kg - and that if you are lighter the wave doesn't work to its full effect.  Is this true???

I've used the Creation alot in the past and it's certainly best suited to heavier runners. The midsole uses little foam and relies (certainly in the heel) on a much more 'mechanical' cushioning system. I've never been light (!) but would guess lighter runners would struggle to compress this enough.

I've tried the 12s and have had to give up with them. The fit has changed so they feel smaller at the same size, but main issue is they've re-designed the heel unit and it's incredibly hard. I've done 3/4 runs of around 4 miles and feel like I've been beating my knees with a hammer afterwards.

I weigh 16 stone, so am comfortably in the 'heavier runner' category. I really can't imagine anyone lighter having better luck with them.

I agree, my legs are absolutely battered after just a few days in the new Mizuno Creation 12. I sprained my left calf after a long run and then the right in trying to recover on a slow run. The heel unit is way too rigid and rests on a very flimsy support which doesn't disperse the impact.

Interesting point. I have had issues with my knee since wearing the Wave Inspire 7's and im just under 70KG. I cant conclude it is the trainers though since I upped my mileage at the same time. Still suffering - seeing Physio today

I am having problems with heel soreness lately during my 3 times a week 10k runs, so I purchased the Wave Creation 12 thinking they would alleviate some pain, but what a big mistake! The heel strike area is way too hard and every step is like landing on hard-rigid plastic with no give or cushioning effect at all. I read the reviews, but obviously not the truthful ones! My weight is 69kgs and after reading the comments here that partly explains it, but I doubt if anyone will be impressed if they buy these.. regardless of their weight, so be warned..

I'm a heavy female runner and I like Creation 12s but I've also got a pair of Mizuno Prophecy which are even better for long distances.
