Pearl Izumi Syncrofloat III

Summary | Full Review | Reader Reviews | Gallery | Specs | Discussion
Durability

Stiff and relatively heavy
Pearl Izumi has taken care of both long-term and short-term comfort in this shoe: the cushioning in the Syncrofloat has been beefed up so it's more durable, and it has an extra layer of foam under the sockliner to give a plusher try-on feel. The profile has been lowered for a faster-feeling ride.

The float looks pretty formidable and it is a stiff, relatively heavy shoe, but don't be put off by that. Our testers appreciated its generous padding and actually felt that it was a fast, responsive shoe – some commented that it was best for speedwork sessions. Our wear-testers say:

"Excellent ride quality. A good comfortable shoe, which seems to encourage running on toes and therefore running faster." - Kev Wood
