The closed mesh upper allows ventilation while keeping water out, and a partially gusseted tongue stands upright to keep small stones out. The giant lugs on the sole make quick work of slippery paths and their tightly packed formation prevents excessive mud clogging them up and weighing you down. One gripe is that the insole is glued in place, making post-run drying difficult.
