Great if you want a pair of trail shoes which offer more stability & support over rough ground than

Very good support & protection over uneven rough ground compared to more road biased trail shoes in all weather, together with good grip, due to a stiff sole and good mid foot protection.

Not really suitable if you want a hybrid shoe which can be used off & on road since the stiffer sole & heavier construction may have been the cause of shin splints gained when using them for running on road for more than a mile or so at the end of trail runs.

Great off road shoe with good mid foot protection but are biased towards use on trails rather than roads. Will definately buy another pair. If you are looking for a trail shoe which can also be used on-road maybe worth looking at the Fuji or Torana both of which offer a good compromise but with less mid foot protection.

Having run in Kayanos for years I bought a pair for running on the Forest Tracks- one word: impressive

Reliable Asics fit, comfortable, plenty of grip for most conditions, support is consistent- the gel does its job.

Skinny laces!

I have to say I am impressed with the extra grip these gave me off-road. I can really tell the difference when I get onto harder surfaces - a little more shock felt on my ancient calves but not too bad at all - on muddy tracks - superb. Obviously when the mud gets ankle deep they struggle, but don't we all?

Great trail shoe

Bought these a year ago and they're perfect for my main type of fire road trail and single track. Struggled a bit at an off road duathlon at Glentress in proper no marked trail type, soft conditions. Comfort is fantastic and cushioning is excellent. Seem to have have lasted very well.

None really. Do exactly what they say on the box..... Guess they are a little wide but sorted the out with some x-socks sky runners.

Great shoes for non fell racing, trail running heavier type guys like myself.(81Kg's)

Perfect off road, not for extreme cross country. Used on the "not sure where we are going today" club runs.

Great for mixed terrain. A generalist, but not a specialist. You will like this shoe if you like Asics 21XX shoes. I have done mixed long(20m+) road and trail sessions in this and they feel comfortable.

For cross country or fell they don't have the traction. I go for my Innov's or Walsh PB's without question. Laces could be more friendly, but a small issue.

If your running is specific enough to be able to choose different shoes for different applications then the shoe will never meet your needs. If you need a general purpose shoe for on road and off road mixed sessions its perfect. Again if you pronate a bit then its good too.

a brilliant shoe that did the job

comfortable with great grip on the multiple surfaces.

I thought they were red/ grey but turned out to be pink/ grey

I bought these shoes because I run in asics 11401's for slight pronation and these seemed to fit the bill for off road........they felt comfortable for my 4 mile test...I then asked a lot out of them by doing a 45 mile ultra race around the brecon beacons in December... a lot of mud, rocks,streams, grass and water with some short parts of road....the shoes performed perfectly and not a single blister...worth every penny
