FELT LIKE I WANTED TO RUN AS SOON AS I GOT THEM ON.

Great fit (for me anyway) - good sole - gripped wet rocks, very little wear on sole after many miles and the lining is still like new. Solid feel to sole for protection over rocks.
Few scuffs on uppers and a small tear - but only after many hundreds of miles.
A good trail shoe you can use on road as well.
Not much cushioning for long distance on the road. Not waterproof so if you run across wet fields you are going to get wet feet.
Would def buy again!

GOOD OFF ROAD SHOE USED ACROSS FIELDS, WOODS, STONE PATHS

Plenty of grip for trails, copes great with woods, fields, uneven stone paths. I have Wave harriers for serious off road mud ! comfortable, plenty of cushioning and suits my foot shape.
Slippy on wet stone, and wet moss covered stone/pebbles. Can feel hard on pavements, but copes fine with short 1 mile streches, would not like to do a road 10K in these but equally not designed for that. Ran an off road 10K and very comfortable.
Wanted a replacement for my Acics Trabuco. 10. these almost fit the bill. Did not find they slipped on wet stone but unfort. the current model does not have the quality feel that these Brooks do, very pleased and would recommend.

A GOOD HIGH-MILEAGE OFF ROAD SHOE, NEEDS A ROOMIER TOE BOX

Sole tread is deep enough, but wears well. Well cushioned. Quick draining & drying upper.
A bit too tight across the tops of my big toe nails.
I chose these as my new 'ultra' trail shoes, as I liked the combination of grip, cushioning and fast draining & drying upper.
I've done some training plus a 52 and a 40 mile ultra in them.
They performed as well as I'd hoped except that they give my big toe nails grief. They're long enough, just not high enough over the tops of my toes. It's a real shame, as I loved them apart from this. However, we're all different and I suspect many runners would love them as a high-mileage, non-technical trail shoe. My ratings reflect this view.

COMFORTABLE FROM DAY 1 - NO BLISTERS SO FAR AFTER 5 RUNS.

Good grip, not prone to clogging in thick mud. Drys quickly. Better than inov8 mudrocs for the road bits between the trail as you don't pound your knees
None
Good cushioning, wideish fit, good grip - including when traversing steep wet ground.
