New Balance MT 800GR

Summary | Full Review | Reader Reviews | Gallery | Specs | Discussion

Durability is a key requirement of trail shoes, and the New Balance 800 doesn't disappoint. This shoe is so light on the foot it feels like a racing shoe, and yet it holds its own through different terrains - including a field of unnervingly sharp thistles - without letting the runner down. The ABZORB technology in the heel and forefoot gives excellent cushioning, and the tough mesh on the upper makes it breathable. The midsole provides little support and actually has a tendency to exaggerate any overpronation, but this is an excellent choice for neutral runners.
