Only worn a few times. Ok in mud but simply amazing grip in snow.

Really comfortable. Good for mild pronation. Although they weren't as good in deep wet mud, they gave me confidence in the snow last Nov/Dec, when everywhere else was impassable.

salomon speedcross shoes

light and comfortable - they are superb for a long trail run - in any conditions , but they are very good with bumpy, wet , boggy courses
there are none I can think of !
best trail shoe - hands down , and I have run over 117 marathons (many trail ones!)

Excellent Off Road Shoe

Relative light weight, very grippy in mud and recent snow.
Slightly undersized order a half size larger than your normal training shoes.
I put in quite a lot of research before I bought a pair and was pleased with the result. I had owned innov8 flyroc 310s before and found them too hard on runs with stone or tarmac sections.
The Speedcross 2s have soft studs which give some custioning on harder surfaces but still grip very well in mud, wet grass and snow. Unlike a lot of shoes which are just shoes, but with extra tread, these come from an off road specialist and it shows. I would not expect them to be suitable for very long runs, but I often run 10+ miles in them albeit on soft ground.
I am not sure how long they will last if used over hard ground though!

Great Offroad/Trail shoe with superior grip and lightweight.

Excellent grip on tough climbs and decents on a variety of surfaces. Where others weere sliding down slopes on their backsides during Hellrunner I was able to descend standing with some care. Great lacing system and a very good looking show. Also very lightweight and drains well.
They are a narrow fit. I went a half size up. 'Footprint' is quite narrow so they take a little getting used to for those whose other running shoes have a wider base. Those susceptible to turning ankles nned be aware.
A great Trail shoe and one I would happily recommend to anyone who is taking on extreme trails that require extra grip. They also clean up very well, even after a trip through the Bog of Doom.

AMAZING GRIP, POOR FIT

THE GRIP IS UNPARALLELED
HANDY POCKET FOR THE LACES TO TUCK INTO
THEY LOOK ACE
THEY ARE A REALLY NARROW FIT
Got these initially for hellrunner and going up and down the hills I was flying past people. The more you trust them, the more you find they grip the surface. The tread is extreme and is worn down very quickly on road surfaces but this is to be expected as the rubber blocks are made soft, that way, its the tread that moves to find the grip, not your ankle

Unfortunatly, they are a very narrow fit and can cut the underside instep of your feet, even if they are strapped up. The way to get round this is to buy oversized shoes, but who wants to buy new trainers that are too long.

Its a hard decision but i prefer some of their competitors. On the whole, id prefer a shoe that i can use to train on the road with, and that offer superior comfort.
