New Balance 904

Summary | Full Review | Reader Reviews | Gallery | Specs | Discussion
Weather-proof design

Poor flexibility

New Balance have barely touched this shoe in updating it. It has AbZorb cushioned zones in the heel and under the metatarsal heads in the forefoot for added cushioning, and the last has been tweaked to provide a more secure fit.

Our lab tests showed this to be a mixed bag in terms of cushioning, with the heel being soft but the forefoot very firm. Flexibility could also have been much better but our testers liked the level of support and the robust, weather-proof design which stood up well to runs on differing terrain. Our wear-testers say: "Lightweight, yet cushioned and stable – a shoe that can be worn by more than just the racing whippets." - Malcolm French
