A metatarsal sensor plate in the midsole (essentially a triple layer of plastic plate, foam plate and sockliner) encourages a more natural spread of the foot within the shoe upon impact, open-weave mesh regulates temperature and green features include 100 per cent recycled laces and 10 per cent recycled blown-rubber outsole. The energy-return lug system definitely promoted quicker cadence but some felt that additional lugs across the width of the forefoot would provide greater stability when running slower.
