Hi,
I have been recommended by my podiatrist to buy a new pair of shoes cushioned stability shoes which have support on the inside heal area, but not underneath the arch. I recently bought a pair of New Balance 857 which the podiatrist believe provide too much arch and not enough rear foot/in-side heal support.
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated!
Many thanks
Andrew

Hi Andrew - there's so many different shoes out there it's a bit of a minefield. You're probably best to get down to your nearest running shop - they'll be able to stear you in the right direction.

The March 2007 Runner's World comes with a helpful guide to buying shoes. It's worth having a look at that before buying so that you can have a little more knowledge before asking for advice. Other than that, a specialist running shop has always served me well.

Andrew,
I recently bought a pair of NB 857 so would be interested in knowing what you buy as a replacement. I've only run 12 miles in mine so still early days yet.
