Asics winner

Good overall support. Have weathered well. Just done 500m...now for the 2160.
Foot arch felt bruised on initial wearing in but okay after this.

Instep blisters

Felt ok out of the box ...
.. then I started running in them. Despite giving them plenty of time, these shoes continued to hurt in the instep and to give me blisters. Have not had this problem before with GT21xx or GT11xx series. currently wearing old GT2130s which fit like a glove, and figuring out what brand to change to. Sorry Asics.
Couldn't run in them, couldn't break them in.

Good if you can handle blisters!

Seem to fit fairly well, albit getting blisters, hard wearing.
Not overly cushioned, keeps causing blisters on the arch of each foot even though I use a medium thorlo sock and also another sock underneath, plasters and tried a different running style.
Disappointed after the shoe initially feels like a good fit.

On my third pair...never had a problem.

Have had 3 pairs of GT 2140s now and they have always been spot on from the first run to the last.
Nothing really...although I fear they may be discontinued soon.
I have found this to be a very good shoe, always performed well and no grumbles. I had the full gait analysis and ASICS foot scan performed before selecting these shoes and it has been well worth it.

Memory foam maddness!

Provides good support
Memory foam is not responsive and gives you blisters.
I have been running for the past 7 years, 5 of them in asics GT series. For the first few years I suffered from blisters until I found the GT series. I have had no problems since until this version. It can only be down to the memory foam insole. After about 4 miles you can feel your feet start to heat up and a few miles later...blisters galore. Why mess with something that isn't broken?!! There seems to be a fashion for memory foam in everything recently but it isn't working in running shoes.
