Has anyone tried the Brooks Axiom and what's the verdict on them please?

Hi,
I've just bought a pair of Axioms today. Just giving them a test run, and have to say I'm suprised.
They offer a stable more supported run. They are a lot lighter than my previous Asics GT2100s but are a little less cushioned. Which suprised me again as I struggle with shin splints and they are affected by the lack of cushioning!
Hope this helps
