Brooks Trance 9

Biodegradable midsole

Minimal stability

Brooks' flagship stability shoe has gone all out with this update to provide as much comfort and cushioning as possible. Its Progressive Diagonal Rollbar is designed to give extra cushioning and support and a smoother heel-to-toe transition. It has kept the BioMogo, the biodegradable midsole from the last model, and a tougher, blown-rubber outsole provides greater durability.

Offering great stability and cushioning for its weight, the plush sockliner and discreet support post in the latest Trance gave our testers an exceptionally cushy feel underfoot. Some appreciated the softness while others thought it made the shoe feel less stable. Our wear-testers say: "Very airy with excellent cushioning and shock absorption." - Ebony Besagni
